Community Volunteer Income Tax Clinics

We began offering free income tax clinics in Highlands East in 2019 to further help our community.  The Community Volunteer Income Tax Clinics are a program of the Canada Revenue Agency and are aimed at lower income households who have simple tax returns. The idea is this: helping people file their returns unlocks financial benefits such as 'baby bonus', GST/HST rebates, the Ontario Trillium Benefit and more! These are critical dollars that can be used to cover basic needs such as food, transportation, heat, hydro and more.

These tax clinics were formally hosted by Marlene Watson, who announced she would not be offering them in Wilberforce as of 2019. We know how critically needed this service is and stepped in to help continue them in partnership with the Wilberforce Legion. We know we have big shoes to fill!

If you need support in filing your income taxes and are a resident of Highlands East, please call Tina at (705) 306-0565 to find out whether you qualify.
